Problem Learning English Language - Here Is Some Simple Ways to Learn the Language

Problem Learning English Language - Here Is Some Simple Ways to Learn the LanguageIf you want to solve a problem learning the English language, you are in the right place. If you are here then you have come to the right place because I am going to reveal to you ways to effectively learn a new language. The fact is that most people who are struggling with learning a new language are trying to figure out what is wrong with them. Most people are not able to find the exact reason why they do not have a good grasp of their new language. This is why I am going to share some suggestions on how to overcome this problem and get over it easily. The first step that you can take is to begin to notice the words that you can use to describe the language that you are trying to learn. Remember this, you do not have to use the exact language word for the language word but rather the meaning that a person would use when talking about the language. To get an effective language you will need to focus on th e everyday things that a person would use to talk about the language. This can be done by keeping a list of the most common and usual terms that a person would use in a given situation. For example, if you wanted to learn Spanish for work then you might write down 'Spanish'English' and see what pops out at you.You will need to make sure that you memorize the English word for the Spanish word in order to really start practicing your language. If you really want to learn a language, you must have a purpose to learn it.Once you have found a use for it then you will have something personal reasons to learn it. When you are passionate about something, it makes it very easy to follow along. When you really enjoy what you are doing, you will become motivated to go for it and complete the task that you have set out to do. Keep in mind that if you are doing this because of your personal reasons, then you will not be able to master the language fast. However, if you have a good reason, then i t is certainly a good idea to try and do it.

What Influences Motivation - Private Tutoring

What Influences Motivation BobbiM Mar 31, 2014 Is it hard for you to be motivated? Learn what influences motivation and find reasons as to why you arent motivated. 1. The amount of choice you have about what you are learning. Sometimes your professors will offer you several projects to choose from, or sometimes they will even ask you to choose what topics will be Cortes. Choices like these will help to increase your motivation. However, even if you are not given choices about the class content, college offers you many choices about what you will learn. You choose your major, and to a certain extent you choose the courses you will take, and your course schedule. 2. Your desire to learn. Its likely that because you are currently enrolled in college you do want to learn, but sometimes you might be required to take courses that you are not particularly interested in. 3. How much you value the subject to be learned. The more you believe the subject to be worthwhile, the easier it will be to become motivated. For example, many colleges require students to take at least one foreign language course. If you believe that it is valuable to learn another language you will feel motivated-perhaps even enough to take a second course. However, if you do not, you may have a harder time motivating yourself to learn in your language course. Excerpt from  College Success Strategies  by Sherrie L. Nist and Jodi Patrick Holschuh.

10 tips for a high score on the October ACT

10 tips for a high score on the October ACT If youre taking the ACT on October 26, here are a few quick pointers to maximize your score on test day:1)   Get everything ready the night before, and eat a good breakfast on test day.   Dont scramble the morning of the test to find everything you need.   By Friday night, you should have printed out your admission ticket and gotten together your photo ID, calculator, number 2 pencils, water and snacks, and anything else you want to bring with you.   And eat a good breakfast you need energy to make it through 4 hours of test-taking!2)   Remember your calculator.   Youre allowed to use a calculator on the ACT math section.   Most scientific and graphing calculators are acceptable.   Your math work will be much quicker and more accurate with a calculator and make sure you check your batteries!3)   Be at the test center by 8:00 am.   You normally need to be at your testing site by 8:00 am.   Know how to get there and plan to leave on time.   Youll minimize your stress if youre not run ning late.4)   On the English section: look for short answers.   Economy (saying what you need to say with a minimum of words) is prized on the ACT English section.   Start with the shortest answer and see if that works.   Its rare that a wordy answer will be correct in ACT English.5)   On the math section: work carefully, use your calculator, and get as many points as possible from the early questions.   Accuracy is the name of the game in ACT math.   Read carefully, write out your work, and use your calculator for the best results.   ACT math questions start off easy and become very difficult by the end, so try to maximize your points on the early questions!6)   On the reading section: work quickly and focus on the details.   The big challenge of ACT reading is speed.   You only have 35 minutes to read 4 passages and answer 40 questions.   If you do the math, thats less than one minute per question, including your reading time.   So you must work quickly to do well on ACT reading!   Take just a couple minutes to read the passage and then move on to the questions.   Focus on key words in each question to help you find the answer in the passage.7)   On the science section: dont use outside knowledge and look for patterns.   Contrary to popular belief, you dont need to know much about science to do well on the ACT science section.   All the information you need is in the passages.   As youre studying tables and graphs in an ACT science passage, observe any patterns and take note of the relationship of one variable to another.   For instance, as altitude increases, how does the temperature change?8)   On the essay: brainstorm, write as much as possible, and use counterarguments.   Take a few minutes to plan your essay so its well-organized and coherent.   Use as much of the supplied 4 pages as possible.   And finally, address counterarguments to strengthen your own argument.9)   Answer all questions, even if you run out of time.   Unlike the SAT, theres no guess ing penalty on the ACT.   Save a minute at the end of each section to bubble in answers for any questions you didnt have time to do.10)   Bubble in your answers cleanly and carefully.   Except for the essay section, your answers on the ACT are machine-graded.   If you change an answer, erase completely.   And make sure youre bubbling in the correct section and not skipping any questions!Good luck this weekend!Want more ACT test-taking tips and techniques?   Email AJ Tutoring at info@ajtutoring.com for more information.

ACT Test Tutoring In NYC

ACT Test Tutoring In NYC Does ACT prep sound like a bore? It did to me too, but, now that I am in college, I am doing ACT tutoring because I understand just how important ACT prep classes, an ACT prep course, or an ACT tutor are to getting into the school of your dreams. Many ACT tutors will say that studying for the ACT is about knowing how to take the test more than it is about knowing the material, and I couldn’t agree more. My ACT prep tutoring focuses on helping students to find the answers that are there hidden within the test and how to use process of elimination to make an educated guess or to know when a question should be skipped or saved for later. As an ACT prep tutor, I recognize that every student learns differently, and so, when teaching students how to take the ACT, I focus on finding the test taking methods that work best for each student. ACT scores can be scary, but it, usually, isn’t a bad idea to take the test again. There are many ACT test dates and opportunities for ACT registration. However, this can be a pain and some colleges require that all ACT scores be revealed rather than allowing what is called super-scoring where only the best scores from each section are sent, so, in order to account for this, I highly recommend that all students who are able take a practice ACT to get used to the test before the real thing. My own ACT prep with students will also include numerous practice tests to familiarize students with the ACT test format. There has always been a big push to study ACT vocabulary, but flashcards full of ACT words was not an approach that I used when I studied for the ACTs, and my ACT practice does not and never will include that sort of useless, rote memorization. Instead, I prefer to use ACT practice questions that include ACT vocabulary so that students can learn ACT words in context rather than from a card. I, also, want to make students understand just what it means to have a “good” or a “bad” ACT score. ACT prep courses can, often, be stress inducing rather than stress reducing especially when ACT vocab is such an essential part of the curriculum. Even an ACT online course can negatively affect a student’s confidence. In an attempt to ease students, I will, when going over a practice ACT test, not only explain to them the ways in which they can improve their score but also give them some perspective on what their ACT score means in a broader sense. The idea behind this approach is that ACT testing can mislead students into thinking that they are not smart or not good enough when really the problem has nothing to do with intelligence and everything to do with getting used to a very specific type of standardized testing. To help students be better acquainted with the ACT test format, I will introduce different ACT tips as we go along and I become more knowledgeable about a specific student’s strengths and learning style. Having spent some horrible hours with ACT prep books back when I was in high school, I have come to learn that the best ACT prep book is a person (be that a tutor, a teacher, a parent, or a friend) who has taken and who understands the ACT on a personal level. ACT questions are designed to be tricky. ACT tutoring is intended to reveal the secret behind the trick. ACT test prep ensures that a student sees the same trick enough times to be able to identify it and immediately remember its secret. While ACT prep books can help with revealing secrets, because they are written down, they aren’t very good at adapting their explanations to different audiences. A practice ACT, the real ACT, they will be the same for everyone, but that doesn’t mean that everyone will understand them in the same way. My job as an ACT tutor is to make sure that you get the tricks and you see the secrets in the way that makes the most sense to you.

Student Loan Debt Crisis Furthered by New Legislation

Student Loan Debt Crisis Furthered by New Legislation photo via unsplash Why students are seeking loan forgiveness Students who may not meet the federal loan forgiveness qualifications have another reason to apply for forgiveness â€" fraud. In recent years, schools that issue student loans but fail to provide a full educational experience to their students have been considered fraudulent. In most cases, these are online colleges or for-profit “universities” that offer education at more affordable rates than traditional public universities. What potential students of the universities are unaware of is the quality of education that they will be getting. Many fraudulent universities offer specialty courses and seminars but have proven to be careless in regards to properly educating students. As a result, they have faced lawsuits due to false advertisement and misrepresentation. Like many of the other universities facing fraudulent charges, Donald Trump’s Trump University has endured consequences. In April of this year, the case against Trump resulted in a $25 million settlement after previous students stated that they were misled by the real estate course that did not actually teach them what it was supposed to. Students that were enrolled at the university between 2005 and 2010, its years of operation, finally received money back after years of being forced to repay loans. This seemed to be a step in the right direction for students involved in fraud cases seeking loan forgiveness, but new legislation might say otherwise. photo via unsplash New legislation A new standard is being put into place by Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos and the Education Department to determine if colleges misrepresented themselves before allowing students to take on loans. According to a report from TheHill, the new standard requires that “a student must be able to prove ‘reckless disregard’ on behalf of an institution in a debt forgiveness claim before it is considered.” Although DeVos and the Education Department claim to be protecting students from fraud by implementing penalties on schools, the new standard and its implementations appear to actually make it more difficult for students to prove fraudulent intent. The rule is expected to be finalized by November 1 and it is open to debate until then. How does this affect the average borrower If you attend a traditional university and student loan forgiveness is likely not an option, you may be wondering how this affects you. Although you may not be able to get out of paying back your student loan debt, it is important to realize the effect that this has on the economy. Over the last 30 years, tuition for public four-year universities has increased over 200% even after accounting for inflation rates. Tuition has increased drastically, however, the average income in the U.S. has remained about the same. It is obvious that Americans are taking on more debt and struggling to pay for it. Economists even speculate a recession in the near future similar to the housing bubble that we saw 10 years ago because fewer people are buying homes as a result of student loan debt. Disregarding fraudulent loan activity is continuing to neglect the negative impact student loans are having on the economy. While it is not the root cause of outrageous tuition prices, we should be doing everything we can to prevent further escalating the current student loan crisis. photo via unsplash Minimizing your student loan debt The best thing to do if you have student loans is to minimize your debt as much as possible. There are a few steps you can make when applying for loans and when paying them back after graduating to limit your financial stress. When considering federal and private loans, you want to get the lowest interest rates possible. Fixed rates are the least risky option because they will not change over time and you will know what you are getting into. Above all, you want to pay off loans with higher interest rates as soon as you can. Billionaire Mark Cuban advises that paying off your loans is “the best investment anyone can make” because you are preventing yourself from further owing money that you wouldn’t have had to if you paid it off. Paying off your student loan debt should be a priority investment. As you start to pay on your debt after graduating, you may want to consider consolidating your loans. Student loan consolidation means that you are combining your federal loans into one. It does not mean that you will necessarily be getting smaller interest rates, but you will be making one loan payment rather than several. When it comes to private loans, you can also combine them into one loan and get a new interest rate.   Combining your debt doesn’t relieve you from paying it back, but it definitely makes it easier for you to manage and make timely payments. Student loan debt can be stressful for anyone and it is continuing to become more of a problem for the economy. Student loan forgiveness through the government is a difficult process. It is even failing to relieve victims of fraudulent education systems. The best thing for students to do is to be cautious when taking on debt and to ensure that their money is being put towards a proper college education. Student loan debt appears inevitable in today’s society but students can try to minimize the stress by staying informed of their financial options. Paying off debt seems like a dreadful task, but it is the best investment to make for your future financial standing.

4 Tips to Get Ahead of Your Debt This Summer

4 Tips to Get Ahead of Your Debt This Summer Image via Pixabay Though there may seem like you’ll be thrust into the rivers of the adult world with no floaties on, there are plenty of ways to get ahead of your debt this summer. Are you a recent college student worried about making your first student loan payment? Concerned that your payments won’t be manageable? Afraid that your debt is going to chew you up and spit you out? Worry not, I am in the same position as you and I feel your pain. Remember, as quoted in the classic High School Musical film, “we’re all in this together!” If you’re looking for ways to be financially savvy and effectively manage your student debt, check out my four tips below! 1. Cut Back Spending: This tip seems obvious, but I think its one we all (including myself) need to hear. We as college students, like to spend money on frivolous things until we embody our stereotype of the broke college kid. Whether we’re going out to bars with friends on the weekends or buying takeout for the third night in a row, these seemingly small purchases add up. So, stop eating out and cut ties with your favorite coffee place, because all this is doing is putting a hole in your wallet. Instead of spending your money on things you definitely do not need at the moment, put it in a savings account or literally a piggy bank to keep you from spending. This little bit of money here and there will help you in the long run when you’re paying off debt. 2. Create a Budget That Fits Your Goals: We all have goals we want to achieve or do someday. Perhaps your goal is going to your favorite band’s concert next year or putting a down payment on a new car; regardless of what your goal may be, it’s a good idea to set a budget for the goals you have in mind. Do some research on the pricing of your goal, such as the down payment on a car or phone, monthly rent payments, travel expenses, etc., and create a budget. Doing so will give you the incentive to set money aside for something you want to do, and give you more control over how you plan to spend your money! Image via Pixabay 3. Coupon: Have you ever seen that show Extreme Couponing? If you haven’t it’s a reality show on TLC that documents individuals who are obsessed with couponing, with the ultimate goal of paying the very least at the store for the items (with coupons). Some of these are outrageous and I don’t recommend extreme couponing, however, finding deals and coupons on items here and there will definitely add up. Check out sites like RetailMeNot and Slick Deals for coupons and promotions that can save you big bucks! 4. Sell Your Items: One of the greatest things about technology today is e-commerce. You can buy and sell just about anything online nowadays, which is awesome for people like me who have a bunch of useless junk lying around. If you have collectible toys from your childhood, clothes that you don’t wear, books collecting dust on your shelf, etc. consider selling them online! There are plenty of sites to sell on, with the most popular being eBay, Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, and Poshmark. Not only will you be effectively downsizing, but you’ll also be making a quick buck! Being a college graduate with no real grasp of the reality of the adult world can be a scary thing. When you’re drowning in debt, it can be even more frightening. However, these small steps can add up to large savings in the long run, giving you the financial freedom you deserve! As always, good luck!

How to Stay Organized All Semester

How to Stay Organized All Semester Image via. https://pixabay.com/en/organizer-calendar-schedule-791939/ The best way to keep on top of your stuff is to find a planning/calendar method that works for you. I personally love having a paper planner where I physically write down assignments, activities, appointments, etc., but other people prefer to have their calendar on their phones and/or computers. Regardless of which method you choose, it is important to choose one method and to stick to it. If you are a pretty disorganized person, you need to start out the planning process by mapping out your entire week to the best of your ability (I know people who even schedule study breaks so they stay on top of the material). Here is a list of things to put in your planner: Homework assignments (write an assignment on the date that it’s due… if it’s a long-term assignment, have a reminder of it each week saying 2/6 weeks before the assignment is due) Appointments (never miss a doctor’s appointment or an office hour again, just write down the day of the appointment and, if you need, write down small reminders of the appointment until the actual day) Tests, quizzes, and exams (this is way different than homework assignments because, along with writing when the actual assessment is, you need to also write down dates and times in which you plan to study… you will never feel unprepared for an assessment again) Events (whether it’s a mixer, a birthday, a girl’s night, date night, or anything, you want to have a reminder of it so you can plan accordingly in regards to your homework and appointments… if you have a big event the weekend before exam week, you will visibly see it in your planner and plan your studying around that) It will take some time to get used to if you aren’t a person who usually writes everything down, but it will eventually become a habit and you will be so happy about your new organization technique. Image via. https://pixabay.com/en/young-woman-girl-lady-female-work-791849/ After you have your calendar/planner situation all figured out and organized, you will begin to see patterns that will help you work on your time management. If you have all exam dates and event dates written down, you will understand the amount of time you need to study and the days that you are actually able to study. If you see that you have an exam in two weeks, but the week right before the exam is packed, you will know to block out a few hours each day to study the material. If you want to make the most out of your study time, here are some tricks that I’ve learned over the years: Put your phone on do-not-disturb (only people in your favorites will cause your phone to ring, but all other notifications are silenced so that you don’t get distracted by random Instagram notifications) Only use your computer if necessary (when people are on their computers, they are much more prone to distractions, like online shopping, so only pull out your computer if it’s imperative; otherwise, go the old-fashion route and use a notebook and pen) Bring multiple subjects with you for the ride (I have a hard time studying just one subject for hours on end, so I always bring a smaller homework assignment from a different class to break up the monotony) Bring a big bottle of water and a few snacks (if you are prepared with food and water, you will not only feel energized, but you won’t have a need to run to Starbucks to pick up something really quick and lose your study spot in the library) It may not seem like a lot, but these two fixes will ensure that you are on top of everything this semester. If there is something really important that you need to remember to do, set multiple reminders on your phone, write it down, set alarms, and ask a family member or friend to hold you accountable for said event or assignment. You got this, you’re doing great already! The first step of change is to do the research, which you did by reading this article! Good luck!

What matters most is that they know they have a destination, and that they will be getting what they are studying. They will love that. You can find online tutoring software for free, but you can also choose to pay for the features you want. The best part is that with one program, you can use it on your own or with your child.
